QPR 2 Wolves 1: Goals from Conor Washington and Matt Smith secure first QPR win in EIGHT games

WOLVES have missed the opportunity to go to the top of the Championship table after a shock defeat to QPR.

On the 41st minute Conor Washington put the Hoops ahead, scoring from a rebound  after John Ruddy parried Massimo Luongo’s shot.

But it only took Wolves two minutes to equalise through Leo Bonatini after  brilliant work from winger Diogo Jota.

Both teams went close in the second half with Luke Freeman hitting the bar and Bonatini missing a sitter from six yards out.

But it was substitute  Matt Smith who broke the deadlock with a header in the 81st minute which gave QPR their first win in EIGHT matches.

Only being on the pitch for 15-minutes, Smith rose highest to net his fourth goal of the campaign.
