HERTHA BERLIN could be in hot water following a disgusting banner unfurled during their German Cup clash at Cologne.
The German FA have opened an investigation after fans unveiled a sign which read: “Even on New Year’s Eve, your sisters dance alone”.
The banner is a clear reference to the horrific incident on the evening of December 31, 2015 in Cologne, which saw the mass assault of women in the city.
Hertha president Michael Preetz revealed his disgust.
He affirmed: “I don’t believe that they are true Hertha fans.
“It is something we do not want to see in our stadiums and of course we will look to punish those involved.”
The evening in question was dark one in recent German history which allegedly saw 24 rapes in Cologne city centre.
However, it was an evening which affected the whole of Germany, with 1,200 women reportedly sexually assaulted nationwide and at least 2,000 men were involved.
