Strictly Come Dancing’s Debbie McGee admits she dreams about dance partner Giovanni Pernice

DEBBIE McGee admitted she has been dreaming about her dance partner Giovanni Pernice during her appearance on Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two.

The 58-year-old made the revelation as she spoke to host Zoe Ball about the Charleston they’ll be performing in the Halloween special.

Zoe had asked: “The judges will be keeping a sharp eye on the swivel so have you mastered it yet?”

To which Debbie replied: “We have to get Giovanni to say swivel. I’ve been dreaming of Giovanni saying swivel!”

Zoe then asked the professional dancer to say the word and allow viewers to see how his accent changed the pronunciation.

Debbie recently laughed off rumours of romance with her Strictly Come Dancing partner.

The entertainer, who was married to magician Paul Daniels for 28 years, claims that suggestions she’s dating the 27-year-old professional are “flattering.”

In an interview with Bella magazine, Debbie revealed all about the connection she shares with Giovanni.

The entertainer explained: “We have a great working dance partnership and we really love each other as human beings, so I can see why people want to say there’s something going on.”

She added: “For a woman of my age, it makes me feel fantastic.

“To be nearly 60 and have people think I’d be having an affair with such a good-looking Italian is good for one’s confidence…

“We have great chemistry and love dancing together. But there’s nothing going on.”

Debbie and Giovanni have wowed the nation with their success on Strictly Come Dancing and she explained how it’s brought them together.

Debbie revealed: “I absolutely adore him and I have no doubt that he adores me.”

Speaking of her fitness regime, Debbie told Bella Magazine: “I’ve never been excessive about exercise, but I’ve always done something – yoga, Pilates – so my body is pretty fit and my muscle memory is strong.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 6.35pm on BBC One.
