CHELSEA target Alex Teixeira has handed the struggling Blues a boost by saying he’d welcome a move to Stamford Bridge.
The tricky Brazilian, 26, is valued at £30million by Shakhtar Donetsk and has been with the Ukranian’s since 2009.
Champions Chelsea are on the look out for fresh talent after a dismal defence of their title, and see Teixeria as a possible answer to their attacking crisis.
Diego Costa, himself linked with a move to old club Atletico Madrid, limped off during Saturday’s frantic 3-3 draw with Everton.
And despite the Brazilian-Spaniard’s injury being less serious than first feared, Guus Hiddink faces the possibility of Loic Remy as his only fit forward for the visit to table-topping Arsenal on Sunday.
Although a move for Teixeira is unlikely before then, the Brazilian has spoken of his desire to leave Shakhtar, especially if it improved his chances of breaking into the national team.
He said: “I want to be part of the Brazilian squad, so I may have to switch clubs.
“Chelsea? I’m very happy that they’re interested. On my part, I do everything to continue improving.”
